Early life

As a child, Tep Rindaro had a passion for films. His father had forbid him from pursuing a career in the film industry but Tep Rindaro had already made up his mind, secretly. His father wanted him to become a doctor and because he was a good child, Rindaro decided to at least study something practical. In 1981, he got a scholarship to study in Russia as an airplane mechanic, but he continued to dream of stardom. He worked as a mechanic mainly for the benefit of his parents. In 1984, he returned from Russia to Cambodia with qualifications, but with no employment opportunities available in Phnom Penh at the time, Tep once again left Cambodia. Since there was no need for employments at the Pochentong airport of Cambodia, Tep decided to leave for Vietnam and work at Ho Chi Minh's airport for three years. Finally, at the age of 24, Tep's dream of stardom came true.

The Big Break

Tep Rindaro was cast in his first film "Secret Tears in the Quiet Purple Night" in 1987. With no acting training, his ability to act came merely from television and his own imagination. In that particular movie, Tep Rindaro never got paid even though the director had promised him the money later on. However, the movie wasn't a success anyway. His father had recently died and his mother knew nothing of his new career. When she finally got the chance to see him on the big screen, she was surprised.

Early Career in the 1990s

Since the 1990s, he completed many of films such as Cheung Mek Dach Sroyal, Chung Srol, Vetamean Preah Ko, Bopha Puos Vaek, Promaht Promuong, and Kdam Srae, many of which co-starred fellow actress Ompor Thevy. Tep was also featured in numerous Cambodian karaoke music videos in the late 90s.

Success

His recent works includes the movies 3 Ace where he plays as the father of boxer Ek Putong, Mea Yeung,(2003), Ahkvak Ahkven(2006)and some other films ranging to about 60 just from the year 2000 through 2008. Now in his 40s, with a career that spanned for nearly more than 2 decades, Tep Rindaro's career as an actor is among the longest. He became even more noticed when he starred the Edutainment Series Scales of Justices 2008, 2009, and 2010 of WMC to educate people about law such as land law, child adoption and so on.
